can people use solemn warning on a monster whos eff activates in the grave? since the eff says negate and destroy? u cant destroy a monster already in grave?

You can destroy cards in hand too, so yes it works. Ref: Deck Devastation Virus

i mean if ur monster is destroyed by battle already and u try to activate its eff in the grave

Depending on the monster itself but a common use for warning is on reborn tengu's effect which in this case, you can activate solemn warning. The destruction part in the card really applies to being on the field otherwise you negated the effect and the monster stays (waste of a card and 2000 lp).

well yeah but thats after they've used the first tengu to special the second that they use warning to destroy it, i mean this kid tried using warning on my gusto gulldos but it was already in grave and he said i couldnt have my ss

Idk if I'm right, but here's how I see it:

Solemn Warning can negate the summon of the monster, and not necessarily the effect from the grave. So, he COULD have negated your new monster's summon.

You can negate Graveyard effects. Warning works on them.

Yep, Wes is right. You can negate effs from the grave. As long as it has an effect of special summoning, Solemn Warning can negate it as long as you can pay the cost of 2000 lp.

You can use warning to prevent the 2nd tengu from being special summoned so there is still 2 in the deck.
